This guide will show you how to flush your Windows DNS cache with three easy commands, although you might only need the first command to a see result. You will need to print this page and close your open browers before carrying out these steps.
- Click Start and then click Run
- In the Command box type "cmd" and now press enter or click OK
- In the command prompt type in "ipconfig /flushdns" and press enter
- Next type "net stop dnscache" and press enter
- Next type "net start dnscache" and press enter
- now type "exit" and press enter
All done. There is another way you can carry out a DNS cache flush by using the following steps.
- Click Start and then click Run
- Type services.msc and press enter or click OK
- Now locate the DNS Client service
- Right Click on DNS Client and then click Restart.
Done.
