When shutting down Windows XP some time you get an end task box pop up.
To set Windows to auto end tasks for a quick shutdown is very simple.
Please note that the following information involves you editing your Windows Registry and if you do anything incorrectly could stop your computer from function. Please make sure you backup your computer before working with the registry.

- Goto Start
- Run
- And in the command box type: regedit then press enter
- Navigate to the following paths and modify the following values
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management]
"ClearPageFileAtShutdown"
Double click and change this from 0 to 1
[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop]
"AutoEndTasks"
Double click and change this from 0 to 1
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control]
"WaitToKillServiceTimeout"
Double click and change this from 20000 to 1000
Done.
